~62 hours...

Elder and Sister Stamps' travel plans have changed slightly. Instead of arriving in Portland on Friday, January 31st, they'll be arriving almost a full day earlier. As such, they will shortly begin their trek home.

Family Reunion

We have been out of town. We took a vacation here this last week. We went to Baguio with Rose's sisters and brothers. We spent a week there. The family had a reunion. Many people came from out of town. It was fun. We met family members and their kids that we didn't know. 
On Sunday we went to church.  On Monday we went to Banaue to see the rice terraces. It was a long 3 day trip. We took a steep hike to a remote village called Batad. We had 2 vans full of family. The last long day returning to Baguio over 8 mountain passes with a twisting road was so long. We got back at 11 pm.


Today we finished some souvenir shopping and came back to Mangatarem. We are finishing some packing and sorting. We fly on the 31st. We are set to speak on the 9th in Sacrament.


Life is not boring. We are well.

I found a few pictures of Elder and Sister Stamps on the blog that their mission president's wife maintains. These are from a 2-day conference for all the senior couples in the mission. 

One month left...

One month. That's all that remains of Elder and Sister Stamps' mission in the Philippines. A month from today, they will be exhausted as they arrive at the airport in Portland.

Elder and Sister Stamps will return to the States on 31 Jan 2014.

Manga Tree

The big typhoon went far south of us.  The central Philippines really got hit. We got little wind or rain. 

I am attaching a photo of a manga tree which blew down some years ago.  It is growing up from the trunk into new trees. This is common around here.

We are going to pugo tomorrow to pick up some wood carvings. Brother Dango is really an artist. We are well.  Life is good.

Safe from typhoon

We are well and not affected on this Yolanda typhoon [known as Super Typhoon Haiyan outside of the Philippines]. It is closing to our town but not bad. We will let you guys know if ever changes.
